I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago but noticed the weight while trying to push the cart to the front of Home Depot so broke my load into two trips of 800 lbs each. Didn't have to worry about bumps that way.

1000 lbs of tile a few months ago. I almost had to go back into lowes and buy a circular saw to do fender mod right in the parking lot. Every bump on the highway my 37's hit the rear and i told my wife next mod flat fenders.
