i would make the time, but the money is an issue. How much are we talking? everybody says they can't afford and I proably can't either, but I don't know what it would cost. I would probably just want a 5.7 also my brother has an srt8 300 and it scary fast. I know that it would be dangerous in a jk. especiallyf for somebody like me who likes to drive too fast.

wayland1985 10-20-2008 12:27 PM

Niiiice....

For the 5.7, the AEV kit with Hemi and tranny are about $10,000 combined. If you do it yourself that is is, but if someone else does it for you it is aroung $18,500 with labor.

If you ever open a branch in the Northwest, keep me in mind :)

AEV is in Missoula MT only 8 hours from ya.

Is there a 6sp manual available for these beasts yet? I know they're (or they will) starting to make them for the hemi cars. Will those be able to hook right up to a transfer case and go? Or will you need something heavier duty for the off road

AEV is quoting with 4.88 gears and 35" tires you will get around 14 city, 17 highway. I am assuming that this requires not being to heavy on the gas.

Screamin Lizard Customs 10-21-2008 05:37 AM

There's a definate weight increase, however driveability's still excellent.

Those mileage numbers don't surprise me too much. The big V8 just doesn't have to work as hard as the 3.8.

That's not any worse than i get with the v6.

I think it would be a bigger difference with 37" tires since you can run 4.88 gears with them for highway economy while still having decent power and acceleration.

That's absolutely awesome, I still crave an alum blocked LS2 or LS7, the weight would probably equal or 3.8's and need I say anything else about the rest of the engine?

ssmathis 10-21-2008 10:10 AM

I'm jealous. Still waiting on someone to a) drop off a free hemi engine in my driveway or b) give me the winning lottery ticket.. :brows:

Snuggly Ranger 10-21-2008 11:51 AM

How many hours does the engine replacement involve?

landshark 10-21-2008 06:25 PM

must have hemi.....must save money......

Screamin Lizard Customs 10-21-2008 07:43 PM

:thumbsup:NO 7.0L Hemi Yet but Camp you know that should be on the horizon. I hope that everything is going good with your biuld. Good luck at SEMA i will see you in Moab if not sooner.

The biuld takes as long as the list is. Most of the time we are doing more that just a Hemi install. Great time though.:clap:

Those are the numbers I'm seeing now with the stock gears and rubi tires with the 5.7
