I have the 13" as well... I do like it although my only complaint is over time (only approx. 6 month) it's started to bend backwards so I have this weird kind of mini-arch whip antenna - wish it was not so flexible (but then again it's good to have the flexibility on the trail) - I'd just prefer it were a bit stiffer...

Why waste the cash? Unscrew that sucker, chop it the length you want, unscrew the ball tip off the cut piece and put it on your new shorter piece and then paint that bastard! ... You now have a custom antenna for free! .... I chopped mine down to 14 inches I think? Slapped the ball back on it and bedlined it and couldn't be happier.
