I''m curious as to how well it will hold up as well. I like that the paint doesnt have to hold up to tire mounting. Should help it hold up . I was thinking of doing the same thing, but in argent in lieu of black. Let us know how the spray test works out.

I want to see some final pics of them installed. I am very interested in this as replacement wheels are so darn expensive. Keep us updated.

These are my winter wheels/tires, I may just bolt one side on to see how it looks. They won't go on till November.

Default Update.....

I just took the "test rim" to the high pressure spray wash and blasted it for about a min 1-2 inches from the paint. The paint held tough and had no problems with hi PSI water. Plus I left the "spokes" silver so that the lugs and lug wrench won't touch it. I painted the "Jeep" letters in the center with a black laquer made for plastic. It took me about an hour to sand the areas, mask off the area with electrical tape around the outside and duct tape on the spokes then prime the wheels. Wait 30 minutes and paing. Paint was the quick part prep took the hour. I have to mask the spokes better, the two below the cap have a little stray paint. (Anal retentive me). I am going to do the other four more carefully, this is my spare. (test wheel) Here is the finished product after the water torture test

I'm diggin' it! Any mod that saves you $199 x 5 is a heck of a mod in my book. Good work!
