Default Thimble to replace my winch hook

I have replace my winch hook with an aluminum thimble. These are designed to use a clevis on. Has anyone used this set up and if so do you like it?

I haven't used one because I don't have a winch but, I like the look of the thimble better than a hook just hanging there or attached to a shackle.

I have Viking Synth line with a safety thimble.

I just switched mine over yesterday. I haven't gotten the chance to use it yet, but I really like the look. It was simple project to do. The hardest part was getting that damn heat protective sleeve back onto the line.

I use it a like it. I do keep it hooked to a shackle, however ...

Nice. How do you put it on? Where can I get one? Do you have to it the old thimble and hook off? It is a thing where you replace the whole line?

This need much more info.

I cut my synthetic rope and re weaved it onto the thimble. I am not sure how you would do it on a wire rope.
