Toyo Open Country AT2 - Picture Request
My spare 285/75/17 just fits the stock carrier. I used a $12 5/8" universal spacer from the local auto parts store. Sits just under the brake light and rests nicely on the stock bumper. It rubs the bumper when I close the gate it think it helps take some weight off the hinges.
I had my P285/70/17's out in the rain yesterday for the first time and WOW! I tested braking and slammed them hard doing about 50 and barley got ABS to kick in. Wet and dray traction on these is unbelievable... So glad I swapped out the stock BFG KM1's on my Rubicon!!!
Seriously though, why would you take the most capable off-road vehicle you can drive off the lot and neuter it by basically putting low profile tires on it and just driving it on the road? That wouldn't even be enjoyable to drive on the road because the sidewall would be so stiff it would hurt to hit even the slightest bump. It's insulting to the brand!! You'd be much better off getting a Yukon and pimping it out.
It's like taking an Aston Martin, lifting it, putting MTs on it and doing the Rubicon.
Now, back on topic - the Toyo AT2s are incredible tires!!
So you don't listen to your grandpa? LOL.

Is it me or there's the same sidewall on a 20" wheel with a 35 wheel than a 17" with a 35?
