I've got a black JKU also and I've been wanting to get different wheels. Like you, I would like gray wheels. I'm kind of picky about wheels and have narrowed down to two styles:
Procomp 7089
AEV Pintler Argent
If money was no object I would buy the AEV wheels in a heartbeat. But the Procomps are going to cost almost half of that! Money that i could apply elswhere on my Jeep.
So I'm thinking about buying the Procomp wheels and doing like you did and paint them dark gray. I just don't know how the finish on the Procomp wheels will hold up to this. Anybody tried it?

Thanks! I got the decals from pixeldecals .c o m. I ordered both the Wrangler and Unlimited in flat black for both sides. I was gonna put both on, then I stopped and kind of dig just the Wrangler in flat black with the Unlimited in silver. I will probably end up putting both in flat black on soon...
