Default Transfer case exploded

My friends and I was coming back from the desert. Not wheeling but just a good day of shooting our guns. On the way home we were talking about the transfer case problem that Eddie Wayoflife was show on his Moab video. Not 5 minute later this is what happen to my transfer case on the hwy at 65 mph...

I think it's a T-Case haunting. Please for everyones sake, don't mention 'transfer case' while out driving on the highway.

Folks are saying aftermarket front DS with improper pinion angle is what causes the TC to fail.

Hmm, looks like an aftermarket shaft adapter type with the stock flange. Correct?

My TJ I had split in half coming back from matagorta beach tx. Warranty guy said I hit a bolster and I told him if could me a bolster on a tx beach I would pay for repairs. They ended up covering the tow back to houston which was 200 miles and transfer case and my brother's windshield which one of the gears hit

Curious as to what lift/caster/driveshaft your running. Also have you ever serviced your double cardian on the driveshaft?

holy cow!! glad that you're okay. looking at the pics, i see that you still have your factory front output shaft on and can only assume that you have some kind of adapter or flange mount. if i could guess, this is part of your problem but what's troubling me more is the fact that looking at your rear drive shaft, i could swear you have it installed backwards. at least, i don't think i see a double cardan and i'm definitely seeing the slip shaft and that really should be at the pinion end.

Ouch...that's an expensive mistake.

I'm with Joe (Teraflex), I'd like to know what lift, gears, shafts, tires and pinion angle you were running.

Sorry to hear bro! That's my biggest fear with my JK is blowing up my T-Case.
