Just out of curiosity, did you install this yourself or did you pay a shop to do this?

It is after market drive shaft made by Reel both front and rear. I bought the jk with the rear shaft installed that way.

I already had both front axles, ring and pinyon, and transfer case replaced under warranty all from one mud hole. It cost me $50 and a do it yourself car wash. And still didn't get all of the mud out. It took two jku rubis and a f350 to get me out and it was bone stock at the time. So if you need stock gear to throw back on I still have all of mine.

really?? well, whoever installed the shaft installed it backwards. if you bought your jeep from a dealership and they did this, i would make them pay for this. you have proof they installed it wrong and, i would bet this is the reason why your t-case exploded.

Maybe the picture was taken at the wrong angle. Just out of curiosity. Why would my rear drive shaft would cause the T- case to fail? Isn't the front drive shaft is connected to the T-case which is attach onto my front differential? The front drive shaft is a after market reel.

I bought the JK from a private party. I didn't buy it from the dealership.

Both drive shafts bolt to the tcase. The tcase bolts to the back of the trany.

Both front and rear drive shafts are connected to the tcase as stated above. If you have your rear drive shaft installed backwards then the stress from the single cardan joint is pulling on the tcase instead of the axle. The double cardan acts as a cv shaft. The reason they put the double cardan joint on the drive shaft is to prevent this from happening. Ever notice that your front axles bind when youre turning in 4wd on dry pavement? Thats basically what happened to your drive shaft and the stress from binding blew up your tcase.

wow. Another lesson on what not to do. This is another issue with buying a used modified rig, you have no idea if that person knew what they were doing or not.
