Couple of vids from a Medano Pass Run we did while visiting the Great Sand Dunes National Park. This was in late September. Can only imagine how deep this gets in the spring. Im all stock right now (minus the CB, lol) so the water was just right. Kids love the water crossings....

No your not SOL...
Just make 100% sure you are in 4LO doing a water or mud crossing. I usually stick with 2 or 3rd gear in 4LO and slowly cross to avoid a big wave and have a possible hydrolock.
If you stall....you don't need to depress the clutch in 4LO....just move the Jeep manual shifter back into Reverse or forward gear which ever you need and turn the key it will give you a jump start and you should be on your way.
