Thanks! I can honestly say I have never seen anyone get creative in their wheel wells...or I guess now they are Gecko Wells

Default Aboslutely Lovin' It!

Hey Love Monkey - Simply Fantastic!! Now we'll ALL be copying ...lol

Below, is 'Her First Time' that her Doors Came off. Struggled a bit with disconnecting the 'electric mirrors' wiring', so I 'borrowed' my CJ-5's mirror and inserted it into the Door Hinge - One bolt/nut-And done!! (Also gives me a 'cheeeepy' foot rest). Anmyway, I think I'm off to the 'bone yard' to look for a pair of CJ-5 mirrors for a Qwik-n-Ezzzzy' fix for running sans doors.

Took the doors off for the first time last night. Hard to admit, but what was holding me back is that I didn't know how accessible the wiring connectors were. I had thought that they were behind access panels that would be screwy to get off.

WRONG!

Once I found the connectors, they were easy. Slide the red thing, press the black & voila.

Getting the doors off was a little tougher. Three needed a bit of effort and one came right off. I think I'll leave them off anytime we don't have thunderstorms predicted. I don't feel like being damp sitting at my desk all day.

One odd thing I noticed; it really seemed like the jeep was much lower to the ground with the doors off. I know it wasn't physically lower, but probably just being able to see the road made it feel lower. The jeep also felt smaller?

Anyhow, it was fun and I didn't ding anything (thanks to the 200 different thread warnings against letting the doors swing with the straps off).

I bought my JK new wheels and tires. After much research I decided to go with Firestone Destination AT's. It's enough, didn't need anything more aggressive and they're just as quiet on the road as the stock highway tires that were on there. I'm very happy.

Here are the before and afters...

Those are some sharp rims....... I don't know what Chrysler was thinking (blind I guess) when they decided to go with those stock rims......
