I had mine on the back and it was ripped off rock crawling. I don't run one anymore for this reason. Also, the last 2 spares I've bought never touched the ground and when I jumped up in tire size, I didn't get a penny for them. I still have one for sale on the forum which hasn't gotten anywhere.

It's not practical or needed for some folks.

installed BOA rear bumper and tire carrier, hard mounted Cobra LT 29 BT, chopped those big ugly front fenders, installed grill insert, cut up that front bumper and made it look better, installed Daystar hood latches, put in a brand new Optima battery, and last but surely not least.................................filled her up with gas again!!!!

First real mod. Installed the Airaid Cold Air intake. Thanks Northridge 4x4.

 

Many reasons but my top #1 reason being I now don't have the added weight of a 37" tire and wheel added with a big tire carrier bumper. If I need one I have a 37" spare to throw in the back and strap up against the back seat, which is what I used to do. Only time I can see myself wanting to take the spare is when we run in the mountains. Otherwise a plug kit and compressor works just fine.

 

That sucks man.......... RIP bumper.
