After looking around I could not find anyone that makes a hard top bikini. I like that the front sections of the Freedom top can be mounted but the kids in the back get nota. So my son and I got some ply wood and with help of a jig saw and router we shaped the wood to mostly fit into the front panels. I used a rubberized paint from Rustolium for the top and white for the inside. There is a hole in the roll bar that I used to bolt it down in the rear. Seems sturdy enough. Total cost was about $35.
The shade is great and wind levels are almost none existent, if you roll the windows up, and more importantly no flapping sounds going down the road.
I intended this to be a proof of concept but I will let it roll for now. I would use a better and thicker plywood next time and add some molding to help the rear doors seal along the top better. I wish someone would make this for the JK.
