I upgraded from my Schwinn strap-on to Lange mirrors, courtesy of a purchase in the "for sale" section from gajeep.
The strap-on was easy to stow in a pocket of my seat covers, but hardly was anything more than "barely useful" or "barely legal." The Lange mirrors have a hint of a whistle and they'll require more de-topping time, but they remind me of my CJ mirrors and that's not a bad thing. (ahhhh, memories)
During installation, I swapped out the quick-release knobs for stainless bolts. I also put rubber washers between the mirror plates and the body.
Update: I changed the position of the bases to the front of the windshield, like my CJ was. I won't need to remove them with the doors on. (but I'll need to remove the mirrors from the doors and find plugs so I won't be "four eyes") It didn't make much difference in the whistle.

But FINALLY got around to 'straightening out' my KC lights. They 4 were all on indicidual & custom perches made by some kids in a local HS metalshop for me but 2 sat high and 2 say low-giving a *U* look to the lights. Spent today finalizing a light bar using only 2 of the four brackets

And yes.......... I have been called Lego man
