Busted up my side steps and slashed a sidewall on some rocks...fully removed said side steps and placed in dumpster....note to self: Sahara side steps are not rock sliders and should not be used as such...

I discovered that if you plasti dip with the parts around 70-72 degrees in an air conditioned shop and set overnight. Is will come out with an almost perfect flat finish. It looks factory. I did it outside once and the wheel temp was hot and when the plasti dip hit the wheels it dried fast and left a rough finish. Did the next set inside, in the a/c on cool parts and it was smooth as silk. Just FYI

Lol I read this 3 times before I looked at where you live. I was thinken wtf I had to park in the sun to get my jeep warm enuf.

I got a pretty smooth finish out of it. I'm in AR and we had a cold snap. I was in the garage with a heater so it was in the butter zone you described. I'm happy with it. I had some MT Classic IIs on back order for months and finally canceled so I needed a change.
