I would love to just bump up to the 60, but it's a bit out of my reach. Oddly enough the rock isn't bad. I beat on it, on much harder trails but for some reason this one rock, I barely even got my tires on it, without spinning, and the first spin snaps it. Same place both times. For those of you in NC, it's the rock on the right before kodack rock in Uwharrie. Makes no sense why it affects my jeep the way it does, but at least it helped convince the wife I need a stronger axle.

you can run a 60 in the front and a 44 in the rear till you can save for a 60 in the rear. The price difference between a loaded 44 and a 60 is about 2K and in the long run there will be no doubt in your mind the things you can overcome with a 60 and not worry about breaking anything. I'm in this same boat and really gave the 44/60 hybrid a hard look but a RockJock 60 comes in around 6K so while the loaded hybrid was the same price if not a little more. In the grand scheme it comes down to how long you'l keep the jeep and how much you want to have done... Good luck with whatever you chose to do!
