I didn't do anything special - just wiped the muffler and exhaust stub with some Super Sani-Cloth wipes that I had in the garage. Since it's only about 3 weeks old, there was very little grime built up. Then I used part of a $4 can of Rustoleum high-temp matte black paint that's suitable for grills. Really, the overzealous masking took much longer than the painting.

First, the inside of the hardrop is white to help lighten up the interior and avoid the caved-in feeling with the top on. Second, make sure that no one sits on your seats with white, beige, or any light colored pants or jacket. The red will transfer to anything it is in contact with. Especially if you add body heat. After a while, when it stops transfering to close, it will be pink and not red anymore.

He's right about the red coming off. Perhaps try to paint over the letters with clearcoat nail polish. That may prevent it.
