Default Different fender cut

I've always wanted to cut my fenders, but didn't want it to be too flimsy--or to look like every other cut fender. I have factory painted flares, so i wasn't keen on cutting those up, so I bought some used stock/textured flares from a guy on Craigslist. My 16 yr old son and I went to cutting them, and instead of just leaving the edge cut or putting door trim on it, we actually heated them up and rolled them underneath. We cut some notches at the transitional bends from horizontal to the slant downward.

Once we shaped them the way we wanted, we sanded the fenders to remove as much of the texture as possible; cleaned with acetone; then put several layers of primer down. From there, we rattle-canned with Mopar black paint, and laid several thin coats--sanding with 400 grit sandpaper after each. Lastly, we laid (4) coats of clear gloss, and they turned out pretty nice.

1st pic is of the "before" with stock painted flares.
2nd pic is of the "after" with our home-painted cut and rolled flares.

I know this is going to be an odd ball idea.. But I've been getting a leak.. in the engine compartment.. Mainly from the right side (passenger's side) right at the hood seam.. the water is directed back towards the battery's positive terminal. Thus I keep having to clean the terminal more than I'd actually like to.. I've often wondered why jeep left the red silicone covers off the cables that would have covered the positive contact.

Never the less, I found a plastic corner which is used to ship large items in boxes without damaging the items corner. i took a few measurements and sent the corner to the shop to have them cut a notch out of one end, because if anyone has seen the batteries cable.. it has a green wire running off to one side and this wire was in the way of allowing my corner to rest snugly down over the positive terminal.

I got the back today.. nothing more than a notch out and the plastic corner fit over the the positive terminal.. I've added velcro to the battery forward corner and to the plastic corner as well. Just as a means to keep the plastic corner in place over the terminal.

Some have asked what's the fix?. well I can't say this is technically a fit to the leaking issues, it more of a diversion.. We'll see how this goes. But because it's raining here and I don't like using the flash option on my camera.. I'll have to wait for a better day to grab a pic.

Update:

Welp here it is..

Jerry Rigged?.. yeah probably.. But let's see if this helps divert the flow of water.

Hi-lift, Hood mounts, and finally cut hood vents so they actually work!

Bought a grill off craigslist and bed lined it, also picked up a red punisher trailer hitch from Bakersfield metal fab. And I might paint my tow hooks today but I don't feel like taking my bumpers off... Anyone paint then with the bumpers on?
