Got my 4.56 gears in. Now the 35” tires feel like stockers. No more slugging around and losing overdrive.

Put on the star fabricating smart door stops. Really like them but the install is a pain in the neck. Took a total of 3 hours. 2 for the first one and 1 for the second. If anyone is thinking about doing these I will post my issues/observations.

Still need to take some photos, but since my last post, I've bought a new twill Bestop Supertop, Genright Fender Flare Deletes, Bilstein Steering Stabilizer, new battery, and Wild Boar knockoff grab handles that I got from ebay for $16. Still lanning on going with full tons, stretched wheelbase, and comp cut rear and front grill, but that's still going to be a bit in the future.

New Jasper 3.8L (rings) and rebuilt NSG370 that was popping out of gear.

New catalytic converters too.

My 2008 is like new now.

Default Under-seat lock box

Several minor mods this week. The one that'll be put to use most frequently is the Bestop under-seat lockbox. Super-easy install. Finally, a place to lock away the valuables when the top & doors are off! Nice spot for the S&W too.

I had my third new windshield installed by the factory and the dealer. Original pitted upon delivery, new one installed, with big scratch and lastly the third time was the charm. I only have 2200 miles, in 9 months of ownership, plus I washed off the salt bath the roads give it and gave it a Christmas Detailing.

Finally got around to grinding the flanges on the rear fender flares from Black Mountain and installed them this weekend. Kind of a PITA, but just glad that I was able to finally replace the old faded plastic fenders. Also cleaned up rust spot on rear bumper and sprayed with Rustoleum textured black finish to match the powder coat. Now I just need to get those rims replaced!

You can always bedline your rims if you like the style. I did that to mine years back and they hold up great off-road and super easy to touch up with rock rash. Rims used to be black chrome until I got into rock crawling.

Sanded them down with a wire wheel on a drill. 2 coats of self etching primer and then 3 coats of bedliner. Didn't even have to unmount the tires from the rims. Used a deck of cards between the rim and tire and sprayed the rims on the grass outside my garage. Took 1 weekend to do all and put back on the jeep. Definitely saved some coin for other upgrades.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've considered that as well, but I don't really like the backspacing or style of the wheels. They came with the Jeep and I've been looking to upgrade them to 17x8.5s with a little more backspacing than these wheels. But might be something I need to consider if I'm able to save the cash.
