What was done to your JK this week?
Well, my wife's 2008 JK X didn't come with the front or rear tow hooks, or fog lights....and she was very dissapointed about that, as she really liked having the fog lights on the TJ....and we need front/rear hooks just for recovery....so, I acquired a bumper from a Rubicon that had swapped in a winch bumper, and ended up with a bumper with tow hooks and fog lights...and a rear hook....but no time to install them.
So - my wife was in the hospital on a long term test, which involved a sleep deprevation phase of about 4 days...my job was to help her stay awake at the hospital as long as I could, and then go to work, rinse, repeat, etc.
Having consumed perhaps 5 red bulls and 40 oz of coffee...when I got home...I couldn't sleep...too wired.
So, I got up, and installed the rear tow hook....still awake, I looked at the bumper...and said, wtf, and crawled under there, and knocked off the 8 nuts holding the bumper on...and noticed the bumper is the same really, except the skin...the metal part of the 2008 X bumper is the same as the non-X bumpers...there's all the mounting points for the hooks, there's the fog light mounting holes, etc....even the fog light wiring harness appeared to be attached to the inside of the X bumper.

So I swapped on the Rubi's bumper.....
I look at the steering wheel stalk...no fog light switch...the manual shows one for the JK's that came with the fogs std...and a stalk w/o one for the X's.
OK - I figured I have to leave for work in a few hrs...time for bed.
I later pick the wife up at the hospital...and, she's REALLY insistant on wanting the stalk fog control.
So the harness is apparently already there, the only thing I probably need is the stalk or maybe even just the end of the stalk?
I was just going to do a relay/dash switch...but this is HER JK...and she does't want that (She wants me to do the work of course..)
So - I have a bumper with hooks and fogs, but no way at present to turn them on from the stalk.........anyone done this?

(I skipped pics...everyone knows what the bumpers look like...)

My JK was driven into my brand new Craftsman 80 anniversary special edition roll away today.
The JK is fine,,, the roll away stoped the JK from entering my kitchen.
Mom wanted to show off her new car and put some things in it in the garage while I was moving her storage to my place for her.
Soooooo, she decided to move my Jeep for me. She drives Auto and I have a manual. Apparently the automotive manufacturers have moved reverse since she last drove a manual? Apparently now it's where first is and you have to really romp on it to go backwards?
She felt real bad and I have a new roll away now. Mom is fine and survived the embarrassment.

Thanks and yeah, I told her that the little lever operated the wipers.
She's scared of it now. Soooooo,,,, tommorrow I'll let her wheel it in a big wide open area @ Lake Mead.
My bro and I found some foam rubber tools @ a thrift shop to throw @ the JK while she's wheeling. Just want her to feel "comfortable", ya know?

My mom did something similar when I was in college. I had just bought a 2003 extended cab ranger with a 4.0 v6. It was a standard, and I had several mods on the engine, so it produced a considerable amount of additional horses. My mom decided it had been a long time since she had driven a standard, so she wanted to take mine for a drive. I took her to a wide open space where she couldn't hit anything...and she didn't. But, she nearly dropped the transmission right in the middle of the road. She never once touched the clutch, but instead tried to force into gear, and for the life of her, she could NOT figure out why it was making that grinding noise!!! She didn't hit anything because after a nice little lecture about how it would be an even longer time before she ever drove a standard again, I drove us home!
