i would look closely for signs of offrad use. 100 sumthin highway miles are a lot but throw in some hard wheelin and the vehicle could start to take some strain. it has sliders, a winch, big tires mud tires ........seems like mods a guy who wanted to tackle a trail would make.

from what iv seen guys dont normally add winchs if they dont plan on getting stuck.

i know you are excited to get back into the jeep game but dont rush and buy the wrong one. there are lots out there and it a tough economy. it easy to fall in love with a modded jeep and be blind to its flaws.

Majority of Rubicons in southern california don't look like that... Most still have that new 'car' smell!

Stinger + powerplant are pretty good signs, and the lift height probably points to having had a set of bigger rubber.
I wouldn't trust a dealer either - my guess is you could find a more unmolested Rubicon from a private seller.

It's easy to tell if it was off-roaded, get it checked out, but I have to agree with the majority of psts, that is a lot of miles, but if it's the one you want, then go for it, but I would offer lower, maybe 16K, play hard ball, and do not give in(if it is the one you want), with that many miles, it will not sell easily for 19, or even 18 for that matter so you might have to be patient for a couple of weeks, and in the mean time keep looking around. If you get it for 17 then you can use the grand for immediate maintenance, if he sells it to someone else then it wasn't meant to be, and you will probably find a better deal elsewhere.Good things come to those who are patient.
It is a nice looking jeep though, upgraded exhaust, front bumper, winch ETC.
Good Luck

Umm, yup. My Rubi is my daily driver and not just a weekend toy; I drive about 24k per year and I guess only about 300-500 of those miles are driven off pavement. Truth is probably not "all" highway miles but "mostly" highway miles

Just because a Rubi is mostly used on-road does not mean the owner did not know what it is good for

This is very true; when I traded in my '08, the dealer did not wanted to give me an extra buck for my mods so I turned it back to stock. Don't pay extra for the mods.

For what it is worth: the dealer gave me 22,000 for my '08 with 69kmls (chip in windshield, tires 50%, well used gas skid plate, other than that great condition) and re-sold it for not sure how much within one week.

I just saw a 2011 tan 2 door X with 200 miles on it selling for 19,999. Let's not be rediculous here.

I agree with some of the other posts here. Do NOT pay for the mods. Assume its a stock vehicle and pay like that. Whats blue book on it with that many miles. Its nice its a Rubicon but one word of advice to you. I worked at a nissan dealership for awhile and they used to stick rubicon stickers on all the jeeps coming through the used car side. Shady dealerships as well as owners like to make it look like they have something they actually don't so make sure its actually a rubi also. Personally I would offer less like they others said, I didn't see where you said it was at a dealer but if it is I'm sure they offered very little for it since its gt high mileage, so they have room to play on the price.
