I'm eventually going to put on a snorkel, so I have to do this at least once just to say I did it. For those that have done it in the past, any tips?

Default Worth It

It's not too difficult and definitely worth it. When I did it the first time I followed a video on youtube and that helped a lot. I would also recommend having a friend to help if you don't know what you're doing. I drove 45 minutes on the highway with it down this past summer and it puts a whole new perspective on driving. Wearing goggles helps a lot.

I don't have any reason to put it down. If I had the military Jeep, I might, but not a JKU.

get yourself a cordless impact wrench. There are a ton of bolts to remove!

I've never done it, but then again, I've only had my JK for a month and three days.

I think it would cool if you're out trail riding.
