I just checked out www.jeep.co.uk and Chrysler does NOT offer a Rubicon with:
1). A Diesel
2). A manual Tranny.

This may be done for 'local market tastes' over there blah blah blah... But if it's for any kind of cost-cutting or technical reason(s) - it may be the same on our side of the pond once they do roll the diesel out.

I for one am not interested in the engine if they don't pair it with a 6-speed manual and put the darned thing in a Ruby!

(Are you listening Chrysler LLC?)

If I had the low-speed torque of a diesel, I wouldn't mind an auto.

Don't remember the source, but I seem to remember reading that the 6 speed is only rated to about 300 lbs-ft of torque, which may explain no manual with the CRD. FWIW.
