Default 07/08 difference?

Now that I put 1k miles on my 08 in 2 weeks and had my 07 for 1 year 3 months 22k miles, I must say they are different. Now I got the 3.73 in the 08 as I couldn't get the 4.10s again in an x,, sucks,, and I got the 32" street gy tires with alum rims.. and hard top.. had steels and 31" mtr's on the 07-soft top.. I'm getting good mileage on the 08? My 07 got 17-18 on the highway(calculator) and in the 08 I'm pulling 19.5-20 mpg around town and highway mixed,, this is hills and light highway and I'm heavy footed,, driving like this would get 15 in the 07 and gets 17.5 in the KJ(wifes),, I've been watching the readout and doing the math. and they are real close.. Also the esp is working way better in the 08,, I can and have spun both rear tires leaving a stop sign(which the wife yelled at me). And I have not had the esp come on on the tight twisty's going down the mountain that would trip the 07's esp/traction control. Now I just read that the CRD with the 5sp auto/6sp manual gets 19-20 mpg mixed driving(in the new JP mag) I'm glad I dont have one right now,, Diesel is $4.89 gallon at the cheapest and on top of the mountain its $5.09? savings??

Are you sure the diesel gets 19-20mpg? That seems a bit low, since the grand cherokee 3.0crd gets about that and its a bigger engine...

Thats "real world" testing in the JP magazine,, them driving around LA mixed highway city I'm guessing.. I was hoping it would be around 30mpg, otherwise not sure it be worth the expense,, also said its slower off the line than the 3.8 with either the auto or manual,, called the auto rather boring..

I think the real life mpg with the CRD Liberties was around that range. Those motors are not real good for mpg. And power from what I have heard.
Low mpg for a diesel - Strike 1
Low power for a diesel - Strike 2
$4.50+ a gallon - Strike 3

Your lucky if diesel is only $4.50, its over $5 here and expected to go higher,, its about $1.25-.35 higher than regular,, something about the extra tax on diesel in some areas of Pa..

x2 here. It's $1.30 CDN here for diesel, which works out to about $5.00 or so.

Meh, I don't drive mine too much cept on weekends so I don't really care. Here we go, $1.50 gas!!!
