Default 12,000 maintainance

Can someone please let me know what is required for the 12,000 mile maintainance? Jeep doesn't give it on their site and I don't have the maintainance book on me. The reason I ask is when I went for my oil change today, the dealership told me I need to lubricate the axles and this and that and it costs almost $400.00. I didn't do it but I want to find out what it is and if it is needed before I spend that kind of money.

I don't know about lubricating the axles, but my schedule called for changing the differential fluid at 15K, which is easier than changing your engine oil, so it is rediculous to pay the hundreds of dollars dealers are charging for this service (as many have encountered). Other than that they would probably want to rotate tires, maybe change oil, etc.

12k maintenance,

. Replace engine oil & filter
. Check & top off all fluid levels
. Inspect coolant levels & hoses and belts
. Inspect exhaust system
. Inspect brake hoses
. Lubricate all hinges and door latches
. Lubricate chassis
. Lubricate upper knuckle ball stud at steering & suspension ball joints
. Tire rotation
. Wash & vacuum vehicle
. Check for outstanding factory recalls

All for a grand total of $109.95 from my dealer Can't wait for the 15k when they change the differential fluids for $209.95 per axle. Now that's a rip off.

I've had mine at the dealer for every service.I have 18,000 miles. The dealer says for now all that is needed is an oil change and routine service. He said at 30,000 miles I will need to change the auto. trans fluid and filter. Is he not doing something that needs to be done?
