20 MPG at 80 Again
For all those who want to read the original thread, here it is:

For the rest of you, I'll just sum it up. Basically, running nothing but 34" tires and a Superchip Fuelsaver setting, I was able to get 20 miles to the gallon driving from San Francisco to Orange County, just south of LA. This being a hand calculated mileage as I don't have the left screen in my speedo where the mileage calculator would be. Well, understandably, not a lot of people believed me. They thought either my Odometer was off or some other weird error occurred.
Anyways, I drove around San Fran after that trip, half city, half freeway, and averaged 15-16 every tank. Awesome, especially for all the stupid hills here. I just did the long drive to the OC and back again and ended up with one tank at 16.72 miles per gallon and the other tank at 18.99 mpg. Haven't filled up the 3rd tank yet, but I will keep you posted. I think it's totally reasonable to say I could get 20 on a really good day.
That being said, my odometer WAS off by a little bit, but in a good way. It read 295.3 to the gas station I filled at when Google says it's 308 miles away. So I actually get a little more mileage than I calculated last time. Exciting stuff, just thought I'd share with you guys and maybe clear my name a little

I believed ya! Nice to see a second confirmation though.
I seriously wonder sometimes how these people are driving their jeeps to find those numbers so unbelievable. Heavy on the throttle on a land boat doesn't make much of a difference, at least on mine. It is either really slow, or just slow. I'll keep the really slow and the 20+mpgs. Mine is stock though, I wonder if I would see even more improvement from the superchips? Hmmmm.
How do you drive your jeep BlueSubmarine?

I'm thinking you may have a major issue on your hands with your JK. sounds like the engine isn't running the way its supposed to. I'd bring it in ASAP and have the dealer fix it. You should not have to put up with those high mpg numbers!
For the record, running my Rubi with the mods in my sig, I get 13mpg around city and about 16 to 17 on HWY. I just don't get to drive HWY miles often so I'm at the pump a lot!

It depends. It's got enough power for me to enjoy punching the throttle in town, but I really don't like shifting in and out of overdrive on the freeway. With this new setting I've got, at around 75 mph, the jeep actually wants to keep accelerating, withOUT going to 3500 rpms, so I just keep it there on the freeway. The rpms stay between 1900 and 2100. I don't drive like a grandma though, after all, I am a 20 year old male and those high insurance prices are for a reason
