Yea but the kick down in the 172 sucks. Ordered 12 JKU rubicon mall crawler, trading 10 Rubi 2 dr. sure hope i'm not making a mistake, always wanted to upgrade from a 172 to a jet !

Just sorry to say that most of these new jeeps seem to have reving power. Don't get me wrong It's great with the HP and such.
I wish they would go more toward a stock Rubi crawler in the True Wrangler 2 door with super crawling ability like a willys, and keep the tradition alive with awesome 4 wd durability.
Put the heated and cooled seats, with flat screens and all the luxury crap in the 4 door. That way my grandpa won't be rolling in his grave of how jeep is turning out like a FJ or a darn hummer wanna be.
Sorry but I think some things should stay like they were originally created to be.
Nobody said progress was always a good thing.......

so I drove a jet yesterday (Caddy CTS-V) and the 560 or so ponies certainly made it hard to get back in my jeep but I still love it. But seriously, how can Chrysler ignore their loyal Jeep customer's request for a v8 power plant? maybe not a hemi but a v8. make it a 10K option but offer it!!!!

It's deceptively quick; it's like no other Wrangler I've driven and the power is much-needed for day-to-day commuting in my opinion.

1. This is a JK forum right? Early traditions are kinda moot here.

2. The fact that Chrysler can't make the JK Unlimited fast enough proves they made the right choices. You should go buy a Saturn, they were inflexible it worked out well for them.

3. Perhaps classic Jeeps are your preference. There is nothing wrong with that. I hate folks that say "keep jeeps the way they were intended" on this forum. "JKs" are being built as they were intended. Some are not being used for wheeling. So what, it's none of my business. In fact, slinging mud or crawling over rocks isn't my cup-o-tea. I hunt, scout, and sight see. I'm happy with what I use my Jeep for. I'm happy for you that you love your YJ, TJ or CJ. I just think you're barking up the wrong tree here...

Well, my 2 pennies...I test drove a 2012 last Friday and thought it was nice, but I wasn't so impressed that I felt I had to have it and trade mine. Granted, I drove the manual, since that's what I drive and can only imagine how impressive the Pentastar is w/the new 5 auto tranny. But driving an auto is not my cup-o-tea and fwiw I will keep my '09. The interior is def. more plush, but that as well is not what i feel is important to me and my Jeep. I love my '09, I will keep it for now. Thanks for reading!

I love my 2012 Rubicon, but it isn't as fast as my 2011 Grand Sport was....
