2012 JKUR, 40k miles on it. Blew out the clutch, needing a new pressure plate, throw out bearing and yes, a flywheel. Hell yeah, I beat the trail with my jeep. Sitting on 35"s with a few mud and water crossings. Dealer wants $1900 for job -no thanks. I checked around and no aftermarket clutch kit or tob for the '12s, there is a Centerforce aftermarket clutch but no pressure plate etc for them, so having to go back to oem parts. Centerforce said maybe by the end of January on parts, oh well maybe I can upgrade at 80k miles. Found a local guy to do it for $1300. Just want to put this information out there for those who don't want to read the 50 different threads on clutch replacement. No it is not covered under power train warranty.

Interested to know what you end up doing. I have been having troubles with my clutch and it is a 13 JKUR. My 10 was much better for some reason.

 

Replacing clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and flywheel, should be ready to roll Friday.

I am also very interested in what happened? I have a 12' and have seen more than a fare share of clutch problems with the 3.6L.

 

I have a 13 with just over 10k miles on it and the clutch has been replaced 2x already and the slave cylinder once. I would love a good aftermarket clutch.

Found some mud in the starter too. I admit, I mudded it hard, so having to pay to play. The internals should be a little stronger than they are but still happy to roll in a Jeep.

Next time you get the chance you might pull your front axle shafts and clean out the axle tubes. I had mud up in there that wore down the shafts and seals causing diffy fluid leakage. Saved shafts (Chromoly) by having them turned, fortunately.

 

Good advice, will do. Jeep is back up and running, time to hit the woods.
