Default 2012 auto with 35s???

Hey, just wondering if anyone if running a 2012 auto with 3.73 and 35s? I understand there will be power loss, but I was just curious what it is really acting like. I am debating between 33s and 35s when I got to replace the stock rubber. Thanks for any input!

I don't have an Auto but I'm happy with my 3.73's and 35s. It took a little getting used to but it isn't bad at all. Go for it!

Go with the 35s and if you feel too much of a power loss, then regear. It's a jeep thing...

Wheeling isn't when the lack of power is evident so I don't understand your recommendation. 4-Lo and you'll be fine when offroad.

The only place you'll see a problem might be highway, my 2012 is a 6-Spd Manual but I think you'll be fine. Your overdrive might be a little weak, but you can survive for sure. The new engine and transmission are great and regearing is not as needed as it was for the old 3.8L engine.

I have 4.10's and the automatic with 35'sand honestly, I really don't notice that much of a difference in the Jeeps performance. My highway mileage on my commute to work actually went up about 1.2mpg which I really can't explain. From a standing start though the Jeep will still bark the tires with traction control off and still hits cruising speed pretty quickly. There hasn't been a time since putting the 35's on that I've actually thought that performance seemed undesirable.

Not sure how soon you put on the 35s, but it might have to do with the engine getting broken in. My mileage has been increasing the more I drive it (running stock rubi tires).

Bigger tires+lower gears=better all around driving and alot less strain in the long run on the whole drivetrain. 4:10 is the hardest ratio id street or wheel with. Provided you have a 4:1 trans case. 3:73 with 35's is a bad combination. Your manual trans will help. You will start to loose rpm on highway and have to downshift. Not good. Good luck.

x2

I have 4.10s, 3.5 AEV lift, and 35 inch falkens (well 34.4 inch...) and have no issues with power in normal driving. The little time I have had to play in 4lo power was not an issue.

Great combination - should honestly be a factory option.
