Upon checking on the Jeep website and building a jeep, the 1/2 door option is only available on the 2 door model. Has this always been the case on previous model years?

 

Couldn't get them with the 2011

 

tried to get them myself for the mall crawler i'm ordering, can't get them for the Rubicon, but apparently they are available for the two front doors on the sport.

 

Man that sucks, that's the first thing I wanted when I ordered my 2010 jku. I never want full doors again

 

As we all know the build your jeep site is flawed, I THINK that is incorrect, you can order halfs with your unlimited. Best to check with the dealer though as I could be wrong.

 

I was just able to spec both a Rubicon Unlimited and a Sport Unlimited with half doors. Can't do it with the Sahara, however.

I believe the issue is that half doors remove:

Remove Keyless Entry
Remove Power Convenience Group
Remove Power Locks
Remove Power Windows
Remove Security Alarm

So if you have any of those options, and the Sahara has at least some of them standard, you are out of luck.

The Half doors are still showing as available for the 2012's, at least they were when I tried to build a Unlimited Rubicon.

Not to get too far OT, but are the 2012's with half doors using the same inner door panel as the 2007-2010 interiors, or did they update the inner door panel to match up with the new interior?

 

Not sure what the 07-10 panels looked like, but this is the interior panels of a 2011.
