does anyone know when the new wrangler jk is coming out ive been asking around and everyone keeps giving me different answers. even at the chicago auto show i asked one of the reps and didnt even know about the new pentastar engine that is supposed to go into the jk.

 

You won't hear any official news until the summer probably. New models will start rolling out late September/early October if history serves correctly.

 

I actually talked to a jeep tech at the Chicago auto show and he gave me the old "I didn't tell you this but" ... The 2012's will have the pentastar and the diesel available. For what it's worth

 

I have heard you might see them as early as August.

 

The Pentastar is easy to believe, diesel not so much

 

I believe the lines spool up in mid august. But an announcement would nice. I am expecting to here pentastar and the five speed auto, which is a great improvement. I havn't read anything on the M6. Does anyone know the current torque capacity of the nvg370? I don't expect the diesel to be ready, I'd be shocked if it was. If we do get one, I'd think mid 2012 at the earliest and that it would cost $4-5000.

 

Well I googled. The nvg370 can handle 273 ftlbs. That means it would be right at it's limit with the pentastar. The 5 speed auto is rated at 427ftlbs so it should be quite hearty and it's been around awhile and the kinks are worked out.

 

thanks for all the feed back guys i just talked to one of my friends who works at a jeep dealership and he said that we should be able to order the jeep by late april early may i cant wait. time to start ordering my parts
