Question 2012 JK Windshield wipers - WTF?

Hello Everyone,

I have scoured the internet but no one seems to have my exact sypmtoms for my JK. Right now, the windshield wipers are off, but they are acting like they are on the intermittent cycle. They wipe every 10 -12 seconds. The MAIN problem is, no matter what setting I turn the wiper to, they will not wipe faster than this. Living in Seattle, this can become a problem.

Any suggestions?

Pull the positive and negative cables from the battery and touch the positive lead to the negative terminal to discharge the system completely. Hopefully this will reset the computer and fix any error that's going on. Change or do anything to the Jeep recently?

The only thing that I have done recently was disconnect my off road lights. That was a couple of week ago though. This problem has happened before but quickly stopped and I didn't think about it again. I will try to reset the computer. Hopefully that works.

Thanks

Make sure there's no power at your ground , indicating something shorting out

If resetting the ECU doesn't fix it this will help.

Fill up your gas tank.
Drive South on hwy 410 past the town of Greenwater,
At FSR70 make a left.
Go about 1.5 miles
At FSR 7010 make another left
Go about 2 miles.
Select choice campsite by river.
Set up camp, make fire.
Sit in camp chair with cooler full of beer right next to you.
After 15 minutes you'll forget all about whatever is was your Jeep was doing.

Touching the negative wire to your positive terminal will definitely fry something. Maybe ECU, I don't know. Positive wire from Jeep to negative terminal won't.

Safest method is to remove both wires from your battery and just let sit it for a couple hours disconnected until the residual juice in the system drains off.
You can tap the wires together before you hook them back up but you don't really need to. Disconnect any auxiliary lighting or CB wires before you re-connect your battery.

Your dash MPG will read 19 all the sudden, it's just a Chrysler engineering joke. Your jeep didn't really just gain 4mpg.
Battery disconnect will show up in your ECU history so don't do it if you have to go through emissions in the next 2 weeks, you'll fail.

I love Greenwater. FSR70 is my second home. I think that I will have to take this advice! See you up there!

I just dropped the JK off at the dealer. I tried pretty much everything. Hopefully the dealer can figure out what is going on, though I am not holding my breathe. I'll let you guys know what they say.

Thanks for all of the advice, expecially the find a camp spot in Greenwater. Best advice ever. Nothing a campfire and a boom stick won't cure.
