2012 JKU vs new Eclipse convertible drag race
I'm impressed with the 3.6 motor even with my 35" tires / 3.73 gears. A crazy old lady in a new Eclipse convertible was acting like she had a Porsche 911 and we pulled next to her at a stop light. I told my gf's 12yr old son that we could probably beat that car in a race. She was revving the motor (who trys to race a Jeep? lol) light changes I got a good holeshot and we beat her through 3rd gear. Only 1/2 a car length by then but still awesome haha. She was pissed and we left off and let her by.
Gotta love those people.
Years ago when I worked at Enterprise-Rent-A-Car I was sitting at a light in the left most left turn lane in one of our little Mitsubishi cars. Forget the model, the little crappy entry level ones that had transmission issues and a really long 1-2 gear spacing in the autos. POS.
Anyway, I'm sitting there at this light and a rather "flashy" newish Mustang pulls up next to me in the right most left turn lane driven by this spiky haired douche with his hat on backwards. Kinda smirks at me and the car.
Now at the time I was a 20ish year old Marine working a 2nd job. I'd have probably laughed at him since it wasn't mine but was feeling good decided to fool with him. I started revving the engine.
To my half astonishment he starts doing the same and is scowling at me.
Light turns green and he's off in a Flowmaster roar and ends up sliding the rear out as he shoots across the intersection wide and barely misses the curb and then flies off way over the 25mph speed limit.
After I stopped laughing I took my foot off the brake and drove through the intersection.

Its no surprise you didn't lose, after the second generation the Eclipse was given a pitiful excuse of a 4 and 6 cylinder engine.
