Default 2012 Rubicon mpg numbers

Just sold my truck. 13mpg in town.going to get 2012 2doorRubicon. Have read mpg on here but wasn't shure if the meaty tires hurt it. I drive easy on the skinny pedal and all in town driving. Getting a automatic .

I've got the 2 door auto with 4.10's. I commute about 12 miles each way to work on secondary roads. Not a whole lot of stop and go. I'm pretty easy on it and 16.5 is about the best it'll seem to get. The computer will read about 17.5 average but it's not correct. They all seem to read about 1 mpg high. On the highway running in the low 70's I doubt It'll ever break 18 mpg. The engine is just spinning too fast (2600 rpm @70) to get good economy running fast. I will say the new engine/5 speed auto/4.10 gears is a fantastic combo.

I think it would help if you all posted the mileage on your vehicles.

I'm at 5800 miles on my 6speed 2011 JKU Rubicon and I'm getting 16.5 mixed driving and about 19-20 pure highway at 65-70mph as calculated by me. I agree that the meter reads slightly high.

I'm sure as your motors loosen up your mpg numbers should easily surpass mine.

Auto JKUR with 4:10s, ~1400 miles, computer calculates between 14.8 and 16.1, mostly non-highway driving. I haven't calculated it myself. I am curious what others get because I was thinking this weekend that it seemed low.

That sounds like what i get daily...and my commute is similar though i do have a short strech on the hwy.....though i have a bit mor stop and go. Get about 16.5 give or take a hair. I have about 2600 miles on my Rubi.

I took a trip to Ouray CO when the Jeep had less then 1000 miles. I averaged 19 MPG for all the road miles about 700 plus miles for the whole trip. I was running about 80 MPH for long streches on I70. Most of the trip was between 60-80 MPH. Very little stop and go or city. From Ouray CO to Green River UT i was getting 20.9MPG. This was all based on gallons/miles. not the trip computer. I have the 5 speed auto with 4.10 gears.
