I've got a hookup at a jeep dealership where I can order a 2013 JK 2dr Rubicon at "cost". What exactly is "cost" pricing and how much will a stock Rubicon 2dr be at cost?

I was told he'll get me a much better deal ordering a 2013 than buying a 2012 off the lot. My guy didn't throw any real numbers at me yet which is why I'm asking just for outside input.

Haha "at cost". He's probably just giving you the invoice price if he's not even giving you any real numbers to work with. My company gets the "x plan" which is the same as tread lightly and is 1% below invoice. The most I've heard of is what some executives get, 5% below invoice. My $38k Sahara dropped to $34k, and was built with the exact options I wanted.

The price of your Rubicon all depends on what options you get. Go build one online and that'll give you a ballpark. You'll be able to find great deals right now as dealers are trying to sell the 12's and make room for the 13's.

I was about to say "cost" can be just about anything to any dealer.. I've been offered this by dealers and then go to another one and there regular pricing is $1k below that dealers "cost"

Went online and the jeep site "build your own" says 2012, not 2013. So... where can I build my 2013 model?

And it's not just any "dealer"... I'm related to the guy. Getting a family discount so to speak... that's why "cost" should be somewhere around employee/executive discount price but I have no idea what that is.

In order to build a '13, you need to go to the dealership and do it there as of right now. Hell, if he can get you a better deal on a '13 than a '12 then go for it. If you get a '12, you risk the chance of getting a motor with a bad head, where as there is a smaller if no chance for the '13's to have the problem, assuming they fixed it.

This might help give you an idea...

I had a dealer put together a build sheet for a 2013 Rubi:

MSRP $39,000
Invoice $36,591
FFP $36,225 (1% under invoice, this is what you can get with the Tread Lightly program and others)
EP $34,836 (Employee Pricing)

HTH

I ordered my jeep rubicon unlimited a month ago and they said it should be here this week. I don't know total out the door price with tax but I got if for 1% under invoice for 33,000 before tax I got no options except hardtop I wanted a basic no fancy shit 6 speed rubi so I had to order it this saved me around 2-3 grand to take off all the options such as leather seats tow package blue tooth all that adds up and I really didn't want it... Hope this helps

Thanks for all the info guys. This new JK will be for the wife... so looking at 2013 JK 2-door, hardtop, w/ some "creature comfort" options like leather seats and stuff. Nothing crazy, but I know she wants it to "feel" comfy and she said to get a Rubicon because she likes them and eventually her JK will become mine in a few years.
