I don't understand why there's a 3000 mile oil change interval. Oil's better now than it was in the 60s; and we have much better fuel metering. I could maybe see if you were driving an old car w/ a 4bbl carburetor wetting the cylinder walls for you, thus breaking down your oil.

I had my oil changed at 3000mi because it was free. That is the only reason i did it. it is approaching the 6k mark, i will change it then myself. I will most likely change it every 6k after that, and do it myself.

I do understand the no time (or no place) problem though, my old apartment complex absolutly forbad any maintenance in the parking lot, and they enforced it.

The apt. complex I live in says no working on vehicles AT ALL. Totally sinks.
