Default 33" on the stock spare tire rack?

Can I put a 33" KM2 tire on the stock spare tire rack? (285 70 17)

Not too heavy?

I have had mine on for a year an no weight problems with an AEV rim. You might need the Daystar bump stops if you changed your rims. The factory ones are not long enough.

If you use the stock rims, your will have to trim the existing bump stops or you will not be able to put all 3 lugs on.

I have been running 255/80R17 KM2's for a few months w/o any problems. You will not need to mess with the bump stops with that tire because it is the stock width.

Default The gate handles 35" with no issues.

I was just looking at mine the other day and thinking about how folks said it was an issue with previous Wranglers.

I have a 35" tire on the stock rack and it's been there for 3 years, no issues at all. The gate works perfectly and I see no visible wear or strain.

Agree with the majority....I've got the 285 on the back with stock rims with no trimming anything and all 3 lugs on.

I have a 34" tire on my rack and its fine, I also use a tire mounted bike carrier from time to time and haul 2 mountain bikes on it.
