33x12.50 17 on stock rubi
They will fit but you need some $150~$180 dollar spacers.
255x80R17 is 33.3in tall and only 10.5in wide. The BFGoodridge makes them in KM2 style. This size tire you dont need spacers and you get a little more than 33in tall. Wont rub on stock suspension.

Depends on the backspacing of the wheels. From what I understand you want like 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches of backspace for wider tires. Yes 16's should work and even some 15's will fit if backspaced properly and they clear the calipers. The reason most people get 17 inch wheels is there are more varieties of tire available in larger sizes for 17" wheels. If you plan on running 33's or maybe no larger than 35's you might be better off looking at smaller wheels.
