37's?
Hi everyone,
just sorta thinkin out loud here and wanting some thoughts. i have always parked next to other lifted jk's and thought mine looked tiny. i am on 35's. today i was looking at a rig with 37's and realized that 37x12.5x17 isnt all that much bigger than my 35x12.5x17 to the naked eye. i am going to be putting on an aev 3.5" premium lift kit this summer. i can clear 37's with that, but would it really be worth it? if i put on 37's i cant do an arb front bumper, i have to do a stubby. if i keep my 35's i would run the arb deluxe bull bar. my 35's look huge by themselves. but when bolted on my jk look tiny!
any thoughts?
Thanks a lot,
Sean
EDIT: i am happy with my current acceleration...if i do 37's id probably have to regear. cost isnt really a factor here. just best lookin rig.

sringer there is an older guy that comes down here from your neck of the woods and he has the aev 3.5 with 35's. when I first walked up on it, I thought they were 37's but they are 35's. I think you would be plenty happy with 35's. I thought with the 3.5 you can clear 35's and the 4.5 37's? now that being sad, I am going to stuff 37's under mine.
Well, my plan is to do a 3.5" AEV lift with 37s. I was informed by AEV that it would work, but to be safe you need to add larger bumpstops in the rear. (Seems like it would be the opposite way around, but
) Of course their "official" recommendation is to use the 4.5" lift for 37s - no fuss. In the alternative, use flat fenders. Anyway, there are always bigger tires no matter what your rig has. If you have 35s, I'd at least wear 'em out before getting 37s. Park next to stock rigs and stop torturing yourself

Not that I'm discouraging going with bigger tires, but 37's are also pushing the limits of that D30, especially if you haven't sleeved and gusseted it. (depending on how you wheel. I know there are other people who run 37's on the D30 every day.)
However, if cost isn't as much of an issue - I say check into a ProRock 44 with some 5.13's, and go get those big tires!

I am already sleeved and gusseted up front. I have km2 35's so they are a little smaller. My major predicament is that if I get the lift and don't like the 35's then I have to get aev's larger bumpstops and tear the lift apart then put those in. I'm not worried about my axle. If it breaks then I'll do a pro rock. If I stay 35's I can do the arb bumper that I love tho. And if I go to 37's I have to do a stubby front. Kent from aev just built a 2dr on 3.5 with 4.5 bumpstops on 37's for a customer. It looked huge!

Ya. That was my thought. My rig just looks soo little right now and I want it to look bigger. I just pm'd Dave at northridge and he said stay 35's. So I guess I'll do 35's then if I don't like it/want more tire. I'll do 37's
