Default 4 wheel drive

Not sure where this goes but.... Is it best to periodically run in 4 wheel drive if I haven't used it for awhile? Just wondering about the best approach. I know that sounds sad, but this is my DD as well and I can go a month without the need for 4 wheel drive. Any thoughts?

Your Jeep will get really, really sad if you don't take it offroad and put it in 4 wheel drive on a regular basis. It may even look for someone who'll treat it right if you don't be careful.

IMO your gonna catch some shit for having a jeep and not using your 4 wheel drive at least once a week. But back to your question. I would say min of twice a year to keep the part free and moving. me

Default Good Question, But I think no

Because the JK does not have manual hubs, I would say "no". I had a Tacoma with manual hubs and they recommended I run with the hubs locked every so often to churn up the diff oil and keep the seals from drying out. As the JKs hubs are always locked, and the diff is always spinning, it should not be an issue.

(Toyota specified in the owner's manual - Jeep does not.)

No seriously, it really doesn't matter that much because the JK doesn't have manual hubs, so everything spins in the front end and t-case whether your in 4 wheel drive of not. Just don't drive in 4x4 on dry pavement, cause then your Jeep really won't be too happy. HTH
