Default 4th of July Parade.

I am supposed to drive my JK (6 speed) in a parade this weekend, but started thinking all the really slow driving would just eat up my clutch.

Then I thought if I drive it in 4 lo I could have the clutch all the way out and just crawl along.

Any opinions? I would love to drive the Jeep, but don't want any damage from a couple house of slow, start and stop driving.

Yeah, I thought about turns, but there are only 2 or 3 so I could switch it back for the turns if they were too choppy.

4 lo (or 4 hi) is a big no- no on pavement. I'd hate to see you tear it up trying to have a good time.

On the other hand, you'll be driving slow and have very little turns.
I don't think you'll eat up your T-case. Go for it, but make sure that JK is shining and looking good.

I've driven parades, (if that can be called "driving), and I can assure you that the speeds will be so slow that you will be just fine in 4-lo if you choose.. The concerns of driving in 4WD while on a paved surface don't even begin to mean anything until you get going at least 10mph and you will NOT go that fast in a parade.

I have taken my WWII Jeep in about 20 or more prades in the last 2 1/2 years (and I am doing one on the 4th also). 4lo is the way to go! all the military trucks in my club go into 4Lo. it make the jeep go just the right speed and shood not heart anying if you dont not make any truns, or hit the gas to hard.

Neat parade photos! Best thing about driving a vintage military jeep in a parade is that you don't have to detail it first!
