Default 4wd.com, two big strikes

Quick background, I'm in the process of moving from SC to NV. Left SC on 10 Feb and stopped in Destin Florida, where I've been up to 3 Mar before I continue on.

Strike One (tirepackage.com):
So I needed some new tires, decided to order wheels too. Wanted 35's. Ordered a set of Procomp Xtr Mud's on a set of 17" bead lock's on around 23 Jan. When I called 3 days later I was told everything was out of stock for at least a month. The didn't actually try and tell me this, I had to find it out on my own. Tried to change the setup, all that stuff was out of stock as well. OEM tires were shot, couldn't wait, so I canceled the order and got a refund.

Strike Two (winchdepot.com):
I ordered a Mile Marker Hydraulic winch around 5 Feb with the plan to have it shipped to the Florida address where I was staying. No prob they said, the shipment from Mile Marker would be in and shipped out by the 18th of Feb. So when the 18th came and went with no email receipt or response I figured I'd call. "Sorry, still waiting, expect arrival at the end of the month." Ok I thought, kept waiting. Called last Friday and was told "they just came into the warehouse today, I'll get it on the truck today 3 day delivery." Called again today and was told "oh it's in Jacksonville going out today, expect to receive it by Wed the 3rd. Sorry but that's my departure date. I've already waited around long enough, I have to draw a line in the sand and get moving. Gotta report to my next command. Throughout this entire process I repeatedly explained my situation and that I was waiting for this thing to show up so I didn't leave it behind. Ultimately I just canceled that order too. I'll reorder when I get out to NV.

I will say throughout the whole deal everyone was professional and cordial through 90% of my communication with them, but being a military individual I have zero tolerance for bullshit. If you don't know something, say I don't know. Delivery date? Not sure, it's on back order. I would've been much MUCH more receptive to a 100% upfront answer the first time around rather than being strung along. THAT pissed me off more than anything, and is why I've canceled several thousand dollars worth of purchases from them.

Will I buy again through there? Probably. Once I'm settled and can recommence my build, I'll try again to get my winch. Needed to share though.

Sidenote, my ARB bumper was pretty knicked up in shipping (4wheelparts shop), and they made it right by giving me the bumper at cost. Shame on ARB for the shitty packing job for such and expensive product. It was literally just taped into a flimsy cardboard box. Love the bumper though. Once I scratch it up more it'll just get line-x'd.

if u ever order from 4wd.com, PM bustabiz. He works for them and will give you a great deal and you will not have to deal with BS customer service. All 4wd.com reps should be like him, but there not, thats life.

are you a hornet pilot?? Im an ATC stationed down in NOLA at the air station, small world.

It's not a valid excuse, but that type of customer mismanagement happens a lot with online businesses in general.

That's why when I find one that doesn't operate like that such Dave at Northridge4x4, I give them as much of my business as possible.

I agree with last post...not sure who those others are, maybe offshoots of 4wd.com?! However, the first two orders from 4wd.com could not have been any more poorly handled...they have no sense of what is in stock or not and let you pay and wonder where it is days later! They also sell products such as the Body Armor Front Skids Plate labelled as JK stock compatible....when it arrived with out any instructions or parts, I called and they put me in touch with Body Armor after saying "we do not deal with that" Body Armor cust srvc at least admitted it was not stock ready and it took way more time to install this thing! I just feel like they should not sell what they do not absolutely 100% about! I do not mind paying the price, but damn I expect some knowledgeable service...maybe I am just old skool on that point?!
I have ordered multiple times from Quadratec without any of the same issues...people know what they are doing and my stuff shows up quickly. I have also spoken with Dave @ NorthRidge from this site and that is where my next order will be!

4WDHardware, 4Wheelparts, WinchDepot, Tirepackage, Smittybuilt, ProComp I believe are all owned by Transamerican Auto Parts. (transamericanautoparts.com)

But blaming one for the actions of another is a stretch, they are seperate companies, just happen to all answer to the same parent company.
