Default 4wd shift... HELP!!

OK, so it's snowing in Baltimore, alot.. so I went out to get a pizza. I figured 4wd high and keep it slow and I should be fine.

Last time I used the 4wd.. no problem, little bit of tension but it popped right in.

I drive a 2008 wrangler 2 door, standard transition.

I pull the 4wd gear shift and it is limp.. slides with no tension all the way to 4 low and back up without effort and no 4wd indicator light at all.

Any thoughts? Would this be covered by standard warranty? only at 32K miles.

yup, you broke your linkage clip...search the forum there is a fix, or take it to the dealer to get it repaired

For what it's worth, I concur with this diagnosis.

if you're still under warranty the dealer will take care of it. I had that problem a few months ago. after you get if fixed you can always go the extra step for added insurance against future failure with that fix others have done.
