Default 6sp restriction

Not good news to those of us still waiting . . . I just confirmed with DC that there is a supply issue with the 6 sp transmission. My sales mgr is out today so I couldn't ask him to get the scoop from "upper management" but hope to tomorrow. Anyone with better info? I'm waiting on a 2 dr Rubicon 6 sp hardtop.

I was told the same thing. The dealer was going to enter mine in the system today since the hard tops were no longer on restriction but the 6 speed went on restriction. The last 2 weeks it was the hard top and now the 6 shooter.

But hell at least I am not walking. I have a few post with the same information elsewhere in the forum. I found out at around 1:00 CST. The dealers get their information around 11:00 each Monday after the factory has their production meetings.

so can you not place an order b/c of the restrictions? i was told by DC today that my dealer can get ahold of "upper management" and find out more. my mgr is in tomorrow so hopefully i'll know more then. i ordered 3.9 so it's not been that long but it looked like they were going quicker so i got excited.

it's a 2 dr rubicon hardtop.

Update: went to D today. So I guess the restriction was resolved or I somehow snuck in. Either way, I'm good! Hopefully everyone else's is now rolling as well.

not to rain on your parade, but exhale when you hit D1; there's plenty of people that had long D waits.

Thanks, I've noticed that reading these forums. Would the dealer have a schedule at D? He said it will be built within the next 10 days. Is this a guess?

ya that's just a guess, probably based off the factory's estimated ship date, but neither of those has been reliable in my experience. i ordered mine on feb 7th, had an estimated ship date of feb 16th, it actually went KZM feb 22nd with an estimated delivery date of mar 3rd and was actually delivered on mar 7th. so not too terribly off in my case, but it should be noted that the dates aren't really set in stone.

Thanks. Really helpful. At least I know there's something of a date assigned. I've not been waiting that long, but I'm living to get it. I bought out of state so it's a flight to pick it up, so a few days is no big deal. Thanks again for the details.

I was told today that my 6 speed Rubicon will be completed and shipped out of the factory on 3-29-07. Hopefully it will have a transmission in it.

Mine was restricted for a short time at the beginning due to the 4wd stuff. I have a feeling that they go on restricted status when shipments of parts are a little delayed, pushing back start times.
