Default 6spd or auto?

which tranny will you be going with? I'm torn for the comfort of an auto vs the fun of a 6spd.

I almost ordered a JK with an auto but after test driving one and after much consideration, I decided to go 6-speed.

Jeeps and Slushboxes sound like an abomination to me. Then again, 6 speeds? What they really need is 4 speeds and an overdrive unit. (^_^) And twin stick transfer cases! Yea, four levers on the floor, NOW THATS A JEEP!

don't fret, the autos are actually really great on the trail - at least you won't be burning out any clutches or stalling at the wrong time

I second way of life here. Torque converter is better at absorbing short term abuse than clutch. Two things pushed me towards the auto this time. Sixth gear just seemed a waste, plus the stick I test drove was very resistant to going back into first.

I'll probably end up with the standard, just because it's a hoot to drive. Both have their plusses and minuses.
