Adding power windows?
Hmm.. interesting.
well I had wanted to have it all included in the price of the jeep because money will be tight for a couple of months after I first get it.. so I doubt I'd be able to afford that right away.. and so I guess I would need to order 2 sets so I can do the front and back? But then Quadratec is kinda near where I live so maybe I could have them install it too?
Still though I'll see what the dealer has in stock when I get there on fri/sat and see if they can get one from another dealer.. just going back to the same one as before since they were cool and weren't pressuring me or anything, plus it's not too far away.

hmm well I probably wouldn't have the spare cash to do everything for a few months, after my house sells which will hopefully be sooner rather than later.. but I could end up spending all summer with roll-up windows.. wouldn't be so bad on a 2 door if I can just lean over and open the passenger side, but it may become a pain to open up the back ones :( I guess I'll see what I can get.. it does look like a good option though
a1concepts / a1electric sells a power window kit for the jk. I bought mine for $239. The hardware is bolt on with no drilling. Replaces the entire manual crank assembly. I ordered one a few weeks ago, but haven't had it installed yet. Before I found this kit, I had an installer/fabricator install a generic kit that does not work very well. I wanted the crank assembly removed as it was beating crap out of my knee and he had to alter his work by grinding down the center shaft and it failed. The installer has agreed to install my new kit for free as his generic fabrication didn't work out. One of the 4x4 places on line is also selling it (quadra something) for $350.
here's how you get the power group:
buy the one w/o power group in your color of choice
"test drive one a week later from a different lot, same color.
they usually say something like, "do you want to take it home to see how it looks in the driveway?" say yes. take home and switch doors. go back to dealership #2 and tell salesman that your wife wouldn't let you have it. go home and add wiring kit/switches. take to your dealership tell them you won them off ebay from somebody who just wanted element doors. sell them your original doors for bigger tires and a budget boost.

you could also order an X and get it probably in 4-5 weeks.. X's are pretty easy to get.. I also found it was about $2000 cheaper for me to get an X and load it up with the goodies i wanted rather than a sahara,, S package, power group, 6 CD, sirius etc. . if you go to a larger dealer they can do a dealer search and probably find what you want.. seems with the 08's the big hangup on X's is that they often dont have tow hooks / fogs.. it was an option that dealers thought came as part of the S package but didnt (in 07 they did, in 08 they are separate from the S) so many of the earlier 08's didnt get the fogs... im not sure what options you are after...
