Default Advice Please...about to give in !

Ok, you guy's and gal's have been driving and dealing with JK issues for awhile so I am asking for your qualified opinions, we built on paper an 07 yellow x with eveything we wanted on it...to find out can't get an 07 at the dealership and it would be an 08...at first, cool, get the 08, it will have the factory fixes in it, less problems...and now find out that it may or may not have 4.10 rear, fogs, or hooks with the minor 08 changes...can't get DC to comment, my dealer has no clue and to be honest, tells me I have a VIN, but won't give it to me...long story, fill you in later...
So... I have found, at a different local dealership, a 07 Black Rubi with everything we want but the hardtop, on the lot, ready to go...
Do I...A) Stick to my guns and wait for the 08 hopeing it shows up as ordered, and if not, fight with the dealer to get it close or...B) Pick up the 07 Rubi, by the way, black was our second choice, yellow hides scratches better. Well, I really would like to hear from those of you that know these rides better than we do and I would value your thoughts.
Thanks so much in advance !

I have an 07 rubi and have had no troubles at all. I would bet if they polled all JK owners it would be a small percentage of people that have had serious problems. I know that on some of the trail's Ive been on with the rubi I was glad I had it instead of the saraha I traded in on it. Can you get a deal on the 07 with the 08's on the way? That might help you decide.

My dealer has a Red Rock 2 dr. Rubi with all options except auto. It has a hardtop. I think I'd get the '07 Rubi.

And don't be so sure that the 08 will have all the factory fixes and have less problems.

My 07 was built in July and the top leaked right away.

Theres no assurance that they fix or update the TSB's
at the factory, just keep rollin them out.

depends on what you want, x or rubi, and if you're willing to wait. if it were me, i'd get the rubi in a heartbeat. that's b/c i want a rubi more than an x anyways. but if you can wait it out, you'll get exactly what you want and the x will be cheaper.

If you ordered a 2008 X with the S package it definitely won't have the 4:10 gears. They only offer them on the Rubicon for 2008.
They also changed the S package, it no longer includes fog lights or tow hooks. The early 2008's still included them but the ones they are building now don't, you have to order them separately.

I am in waiting as well and the more I learn and read on this forum I would get the 2dr Rubi w/my gig soft top my dealer has on the lot right now but as I have said in prevous posts it's Red Rock - my last choice in color. I ordered a steel blue 2dr Sahara w/ mygig and dual tops.

By the way made my first trip to OBX a few weeks ago w/ the family and absolutely loved it - I will be taking the JK down there next year - If i get it by then. Maybe you can give some spots to off road.

Good Luck

YOU MUST WAIT. Nothing compares to the Yellow. It's the greatest color ever on a Jeep. Black is so.... black. It blends in. But yellow is so YELLOW. It says, "I AM A JEEP AND I AM YELLOW!!!"

Maybe it's just me.
