COuld one just mount the winch plate from aev, not the whole bumper?I think this is it here..
Looks cool, and its probaby not 645,000 bucks like their hole bumper....
One could just mount the plate as you described, however if you are in a state that requires and strictly adhears to the code, you may have some trouble.
The area I live in here in Pa strictly adhears to the code, and the vehicle code for passenger cars and light duty trucks are somewhat vague. For example it might not meet the requirement for bumper height;
Maximum Height
(8) Check the bumpers and reject if one or more of the following apply:
(i) The bumper, if required as original equipment, is not on the vehicle.
(iii) Some part of the main horizontal bumper bar, exclusive of bumper guards, on passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles and light trucks does not fall within 16 inches aboveground level or exceeds the following limits:
Vehicle Class Maximum Height
Front Bumper (or Frame
if any of the conditions in
subparagraph (iv) apply)
Passenger cars 22 inches
Trucks and multipurpose passenger
Vehicles
5,000 lbs. or less GVWR 24 inches 26 inches
(iv) The front and rear height measurements shall be made to the bottom edge of the foremost portion of the frame rail, or to the original mounting brackets, whichever is lower, if one of the following apply:
(A) The bumper height, relative to the frame rail, has been altered.
(B) The vehicle was not originally equipped with a front or rear bumper.
(C) A supplemental bumper has been added.
(D) The manufacturer’s specified bumper has been replaced with a bumper not identical to the manufacturer’s specified bumper.
If your Jeep is registered as a multipurpose vehicle or light truck, it would have to meet the requirement of 26". Again, that is here in Pa. I'm sure the state in which you live most likely has vehicle code requirements. They may or may not be as stringent as ours.

Thanks! But luckily I live in Colorado where its legal to do just about anything. You should see the stuff driving around out here. I grew up outside of Philly, and miss it everyday. Lancaster is a great place. Thanks again.
I'd also like to see this winch mount. I don't want to spend huge $$ for a lead weight bumper which will turn a 3" lift into a 2" lift. I'm also patiently waiting for Nate to come out with his minimal military style bumper. I just like the Jeep to look like a Jeep, not a nose-heavy Transformer.
Ok, I just don't have the money...
So, pics please.
