Default after the oil consumption test comes the....

Hey everyone,

Just thought id share...

After extensive oil consumption tests on my 07 2dr x...my local dealer decided they should rip apart my engine to find out what is wrong with it. I am 100% warrantied they have no clue whats going on. i burned 3.5 qts in 1000 miles before i went in to start the test. in the time they were testing...(500 miles) i went from above the safe zone to below the safe zone. they are going to do whatever possible to fix it...even if they resort to giving me a new motor =)

wish them luck!

haha

Tell them that you just want them to cut you a check for what the new motor would cost...then put in a Hemi!!!

Haha. I was contemplating doing that if that's what it comes down to. But the warranty would be voided with a hemi

Ok. I was just informed that apparently my problem is that there was a crack in a part. Oil was seeping thru the crack into my intake. They ordered the part it will be in tomoro and I'll be squared away :-)

The older Isuzu 6VD1 motor had oil drainback holes in the pistons that were too small. After a little carbon buildup in the holes it caused the oil to go past the rings and burn off in the combustion chamber. I wonder if the oil consumption problem with the Jeep engine is similar.

Mine was a crack that let oil into the intake

Default Wow

Wow...glad they found it and it will be an easy fix.

With that much oil getting into the intake was the jeep smokin' alot and smelling like burning oil?
