Default Aftermarket support in Europe?

Hi everybody, new here and not quite sure where to post this. I just relocated to Europe from Atlanta and will be here for a couple of years so I am looking into buying a JK. The good thing is they have the diesel 2.8 version that I hear is pretty good but aftermarket part suppliers are few and far in between. Can anybody point me in any direction or should I just stick to us suppliers that ship overseas and put up with the high shipping rates. That might be a deal breaker as shipping for a lift kit is right around $2000. I am afraid to check rims and tires or bumpers so any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a JK forum in Germany, listing several suppliers locally; so, how's your German? I believe they all speak English pretty well though :-) You could drive over there and pick stuff up yourself I recon'.

Check out their Jeeps! Most have a lift and 33" or 35" off-road tires! All of that is registered to the vehicle per German law. Several good forum notes about the 2.8 L diesel If you need help, I am fluent in German, just email me!

I did find a Jeep forum, not sure if it's the one you recommended (you can feel free to PM me a link) and thanks to "Google translate" I am starting to get somewhere. P.S The translation is goofy as hell, it's entertaining in itself

AEV has some dealers in Europe (Germany, France) Rock Krawler has a dealer in the UK. You can also get some other stuff via a few UK web sites.

Otherwise for some of the stuff, you will have to import from the US, depending on what it is, the cost from the US + shipping + Tax = the cost in Europe anyway.

Most of the kit has Come across from the US anyway.

As for the CRD big grin :-)

I think I might be better off buying everything from the US at once and ship it freight. Kind of hard to drop all that cash at once though...If I could take the Jeep back home with me it would be worth it. Has anyone imported a diesel Jeep from overseas?

Yep, that would work, shipping from Seattle works for me.

Not shipped any cars back to the US, but I would look to see what emission laws you will need to met by taking a CRD over their.

Also point to watch on the European specs would be what weight you can tow, they changed this so that they could get the emission law levels around 2011.

My JK is 07 and can almost tow 2x what the 2011 can.
